Arduino has made it possible for DYI electronics hobbiest and experts to turn out some easy electronics projects at a very cheap cost. This project is going to utilize an Arduino Pro Micro. A powerful micro sized 16mHz PCBs with 4 channels of 10-bit ADC, 5 PWM pins, 12 DIOs as well as hardware serial connections Rx and Tx and an on-board voltage regulator. All of this at a cost of less than $7, there is little reason to start from scratch. Arduino software is based on scaled down C to make it easy but still extensive enough to make it powerful. Because of it’s open hardware model, all of the resources can be found online.
I have already used these successfully in my Wraith project with fantastic results. This project is going to cover how to build, install and update the code I have written in a friends Scale RC truck. It’s a great base to start with as it’s already outfitted with the LEDs needed though it will require a complete rewire.
These boards were sourced from eBay at a cost of $17 shipped for two boards, 1 of which will serve as base for this project.
…..to be continued.
